Situation

The site

The site is a small wood (see aerial photograph, Zones of scenario on schema below / 2, 2b, 2c, 3, 5 on inner border, 6, 7 inner part) which is about 400m x 100m. It consists of a thicket, a mix of young saplings and tall trees, including oaks, hornbeams, chestnuts, and various conifers. All maintenance of the wood has been stopped since October, 2011, so that the exhibition may be done in an “abandoned” zone, appropriate to the subject…to the production of an “interzone.” The photographs of the site convey the forest “ambience” of the situation which is made up of fauna, flora, a forest floor biotope, wind, rustlings, odors, humidity, muddy boots, insects and rot, vitalism of nature and biomass, dead trees and buds, anthroposophism and heterotopy, protection and ruin, phantoms, elves, harpies and nocturnal rituals, but also rays of light…photosynthesis, and chemical processes which are part of the evolution of an ecosystem, humus, nitrogen, the decomposition of plant material by the fauna of the forest…

The scenarios are naturally set on this site, in the hollow of its own constitution, intrinsic, they position themselves on a territory and must make their choice explicit (wood, forest edge, trees, floor, branches, air, sounds, chemistry, photosynthesis…) without the candidates (except for rare cases) having to place them precisely…the jury, through its curator, according to the selection of scenarios, will make a location suggestion which corresponds to technical requirements (electricity or others).

Le site

Le périmètre communal est en accès libre et non sécurisé. Le Site proposé est une zone forestière et urbaine en longueur avec arbres de hautes tiges (Zones d’intervention-voir schéma ci après / 2, 2b, 2c, 3, 5 lisère , 6, 7 dans le périmètre forestier )

Il s’agit d’un petit bois (voir photographie aérienne) de 400×100 mètres environ. Il est composé d’un taillis, mélange de jeunes sujets et d’arbres de grande hauteur de type chêne, charme, marronnier et résineux variés. La maintenance du bois est stoppée à partir d’octobre 2011, afin que l’exposition soit montée dans une zone « à l’abandon », propice au sujet… à la production d’une interzone. Les photographies du site donne « l’ambiance » forestière de la situation, qui est constituée de : faune, flore, biotope de sous-bois, vent, bruissements, odeurs, humidité, bottes crottées, insectes et pourrissements, vitalisme de la nature et biomasse, arbre morts et bourgeons, antroposophisme et hétérotopie, protection et perdition, fantômes, elfes, harpies et rituels nocturnes, mais aussi rayons de lumières…de photosynthèse et de processus chimiques propres à l’évolution d’un écosystème, humus, azote, décomposition du matériau végétal par la faune forestière…

Les scénaris sont par nature situés sur ce site, au creux de sa constitution propre, intrinsèque, ils se positionnent sur un territoire et doivent expliciter leur choix (bois, lisières, arbres, sol, branches, air, sons, chimie, photosynthèse…) sans que les candidats (sauf exception) soient obligés de les localiser précisément,…le jury, via son curateur, en fonction des scenaris sélectionnés, fera une proposition d’emplacement afin de correspondre aux contraintes techniques (électricité ou autres).
